Among the most requested services by Italian citizens are the issuance of passports, certificates and electronic ID cards. Consulates guarantee assistance to all Italian nationals in case of violation of their fundamental rights and of limitation or loss of their personal freedom. Moreover, they help them in cases of emergency, in their search for family members, for inheritance matters abroad and for repatriation to Italy. The consular services provided are based on the following principles: equality of treatment, impartiality, efficiency and transparency.
