By Presidential Decrees of 31\/03\/2025, published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale of 31\/03\/2025, the date of the abrogative referendums<\/strong> pursuant to Article 75 of the Constitution has been set at 8 and 9 JUNE 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Please note that VOTING is a RIGHT<\/strong> protected by the Italian Constitution and that Italian citizens residing abroad<\/strong>, registered in the electoral rolls, may VOTE BY POSTAL MAIL<\/strong>, receiving the ballot envelope at their address of residence. To this end, it is advisable to regularise one’s personal and address<\/a> details at the consular office, using the online portal of consular services Fast It.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

As an alternative to voting by post, voters registered with AIRE CAN CHOOSE TO VOTE IN ITALY<\/strong><\/span>, at their municipality of electoral registration, by notifying the Consulate General in writing of their OPTION by 10 APRIL 2025<\/strong>. Voters who choose to vote in Italy on the occasion of the next referendum will receive from their respective Italian municipalities the postcard-notice to vote at polling stations in Italy.<\/p>\n

To exercise this OPTION, please send via E-MAIL <\/strong>the appropriate FORM<\/strong> <\/a>signed and accompanied by an identity document<\/strong> <\/span>to: bruxelles.elezioni@esteri.it\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

The form<\/a> may also be delivered by hand or sent to the Consulate General: rue de Livourne 38, 1000 Brussels (it must in any case arrive NO LATER THAN 10\/04\/2025<\/strong>). It will be the voters’ responsibility to check that any notice of option sent by post has been received in good time by their Consular Office. Requests received after the deadline indicated above will NOT<\/strong> be considered valid.<\/p>\n

The option may also be written on plain paper and – in order to be valid – must contain the voter’s name, surname, date and place of birth, place of residence and signature, accompanied by a copy of the declarer’s identity document.<\/p>\n

The choice to vote in Italy may be subsequently REVOKED<\/strong> with a written communication to be sent or delivered to the Consular Office in the same way and by the same date as for exercising the option.<\/span><\/p>\n

If one chooses to return to Italy in order to vote, the law does NOT<\/strong> provide for any kind of reimbursement<\/strong> for travel expenses incurred, but only for reduced rates within Italian territory.<\/p>\n
