{"id":1033,"date":"2024-07-11T11:18:26","date_gmt":"2024-07-11T09:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consbruxelles.esteri.it\/?page_id=1033"},"modified":"2025-04-15T16:24:24","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T14:24:24","slug":"certificates-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/consbruxelles.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/civil-registry-vital-records\/certificates-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Certificates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Civil status certificates to be requested in ITALY (or online)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Consulate General <strong>does not<\/strong> issue birth, marriage, death or divorce certificates, as these <strong>are the sole responsibility<\/strong> of the local authority in Italy (Tribunal, in the case of divorce).<br \/>\n<strong>These civil status certificates<\/strong> must, therefore, be requested<strong> directly from the Italian Commune<\/strong> by the interested party himself.<br \/>\n<strong>Italian citizens registered with AIRE<\/strong>, as well as those residing in Italy, may request <strong>civil status certificates online,<\/strong> through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interno.gov.it\/it\/notizie\/anpr-certificati-anagrafici-online-e-gratuiti-i-cittadini\">ANPR<\/a> platform. They can be requested for themselves or for cohabiting Italian family members. Issuance is <strong>free of charge<\/strong> and possible only on condition of having a <strong>digital identity<\/strong>, CIE, Spid or CNS. Alternatively, it is necessary to contact the municipality directly.<\/p>\n<p>2. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Civil-status certificates that can be issued by the Consulate General<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>a) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Which certificates may be issued by the Consulate General<\/span><br \/>\nb) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How and when to request a certificate<\/span><br \/>\nc) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Forms<\/span><br \/>\nd) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How to fill out the form<\/span><br \/>\ne) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Certificates for minors<\/span><\/p>\n<p>a) <strong>Which certificates can be issued by the Consulate General<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. <strong>Certificate of free\/civil status<\/strong>, stating the applicant&#8217;s marital status (single; married\/separated; divorced, etc.) (<strong>trilingual FR, IT, NL)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2. <strong>Certificate of the applicant&#8217;s Italian citizenship<\/strong> <strong>(trilingual FR, IT, NL)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>Certificate of individuality\/anagraphic concordance<\/strong>, certifying the uniqueness of the applicant&#8217;s person in the case of discrepancies in the applicant&#8217;s personal data between different documents<strong> (in FR or NL &#8211; specify in the request)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4. <strong>Certificate of legal capacity to marry\/Nulla Osta<\/strong>, certifying the applicant&#8217;s capacity to marry an identified person. This certificate is necessary in the case of a marriage celebrated in a country other than Belgium or Italy <strong>(International Multilingualism)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>5. <strong>Coutume certificate<\/strong>, a certificate of legislation relating to different legal institutions (marriage, filiation, attribution of a double surname, etc.), <strong>attesting to the legislation in force in Italy (in FR or NL &#8211; please specify in the request)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Certificates<strong> 1), 2), 3), 4)<\/strong> may only be issued to<strong> AIRE members of this Consulate General<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citizens who do not reside<\/strong> in this consular district must apply <strong>directly to the Italian municipality<\/strong> of residence, have the certificate translated by a sworn translator (<a href=\"https:\/\/consbruxelles.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/L-Lista-TRADUTTORI-GIURATI-Novembre-v2.pdf\">LISTA<\/a>) and legalise the translator&#8217;s signature with the local authorities.<br \/>\nOnly certificate <strong>5),<\/strong> Coutume, may be issued to non-residents and non-registered persons.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>b) <strong>How and when to apply for a certificate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Certificate requests must be made <strong>directly at the Consulate General&#8217;s counter<\/strong> (Rue de Livourne 38) <strong>from Monday to Friday, between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm, without an appointment.<\/strong><br \/>\nCertificates will be issued on sight, provided that the applicants&#8217; consular file and AIRE registration are up to date.<br \/>\n<strong>Payments<\/strong> must be made exclusively <strong>by bank card or credit card<\/strong> (<strong>preferably Bancontact<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>c) <strong>Forms<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are <strong>two types<\/strong> of forms that must be <strong>downloaded and brought to the Consulate already filled out<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Richiesta di <a href=\"https:\/\/consbruxelles.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/richiesta_di_certificato_di_capacita_matrimoniale_-_alias_nulla_osta.docx\"><strong>certificato per Capacit\u00e0 Matrimoniale<\/strong><\/a> (nulla osta), to be used <strong>only<\/strong> if the Italian citizen marries in a<strong> State other than Italy and Belgium<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/consbruxelles.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/RICHIESTA-DI-CERTIFICATO.docx\">Request_of_Certificate<\/a><\/strong>, to be used to request <strong>all the other types of certificates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following must always be attached to the request<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>front and back copy<\/strong> of an Italian <strong>identity document<\/strong> of the applicant<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>front\/back copy<\/strong> of the applicant&#8217;s <strong>residence permit<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>front\/back copy<\/strong> of the <strong>bride and groom&#8217;s residency permit<\/strong> (only for <strong>marital capacity certificates<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>d)<strong> Modalities for filling in<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>one (1) form<\/strong> for <strong>each<\/strong> applicant<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>the form<\/strong> must be <strong>signed by hand<\/strong> by the applicant: <strong>no digital signature<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>full<\/strong> address of residence<br \/>\n&#8211; declaration of the applicant&#8217;s <strong>current marital status<\/strong>: <strong>put a cross in the corresponding box<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>request of the type of certificate<\/strong>: put<strong> a cross on the type(s) of certificate(s) desired<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; In the case of the Coutume certificate, put a cross if <strong>for marriage<\/strong> or <strong>for recognition<\/strong> or <strong>for the attribution of a double surname, etc. and on the language (FR or NL)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>e) Certificates for minors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>the form<\/strong> must be <strong>filled in with the data of the Italian parent and signed by him<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>the documents<\/strong> to be attached will be those <strong>of the parent<\/strong> and <strong>those of the minor<\/strong> if they exist and\/or are available<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>specify on the form that the certificates are for the minor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"1.
